I've run a few basic tests with new projects, and have noticed no problems with VST3 plugins. I've not seen any problems with a mix of VST2 and VST3 plugins either. So far, so good.

Thank you but unfortunately is a 32bit plugin and EXT64 can't use it.
But now I've got some ideas how to find something similar

Insert Piz Here made this one and it has qwerty midi. Pretty sure there is a 64 bit version but you might have to search for wherever the current download actually is found.
Edit: I found the 64 bit package but midi keyboard isnt in there. It does have midi to qwerty though https://web.archive.org/web/20170317184 ... di_x64.zip
so that wasnt much help sorry

BTW, I love this little DAW! I've been using it since 2008 but then I went Ableton for other reasons.
Now the 64 is really a time-travel experience for me.

You could try using something like VMPK https://vmpk.sourceforge.io/ along with loopMIDI https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html (to create a virtual MIDI cable to connect VMPK with EXT64). VMPK needs to be in the foreground for the computer keyboard to enter notes.Biscotto wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 1:41 amYour help is really appreciated regardless. Thanks, I saw that before and I rather not to have loopmidi installed.Calum wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 4:49 pmYou could try using something like VMPK https://vmpk.sourceforge.io/ along with loopMIDI https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html (to create a virtual MIDI cable to connect VMPK with EXT64). I actually run my computer as clean as possible.
I never crash a DAW no matter what. It’s restrictive but is also liberating at the same time
I demo on my wife computers because she doesn’t mind

A bug report:
When you drag'n'drop a '*.vst3' folder (in contrast to a specific '*.vst3' file) to the sequencer tracks area, then an error message dialog pops up that the plugin couldn't be loaded and then EXT64 crashes.
Does not happen, if a 'regular' folder gets dropped there.
Probably the fix is to check if the dropped item is a file and - if not - ignore it like it's done with other items not matching the required extension or so.

I can't get midi in to receive keyboard note on/off messages from my PC3. I can see midi out is sending control change messages but no note on/off

I may have found a bug in EXT64 which appears to have been present in all versions, but isn't present in EnergyXT2.7 (or indeed, in MuLab).
In EnergyXT2.7 modular view, I used to be able to create multiple output routings from the single audio output of a synth or effect. i.e.; I could output audio from a VSTi synth (e.g.; Z3ta+2) to an Audio Out in EnergyXT2.7, and then create another routing from the output of the same synth instance to a VST effect (reverb, glitch, granular, delay, gain, etc.,).
This doesn't seem to work in EXT64. I can create the routing, but as soon as the second output is connected, the audio becomes distorted.
I don't see the problem in MuLab either.
Has anybody noticed this?

Hi seismic1!
I tried to reproduce in EXT64 and indeed I also got distorted sound first.
I then increased the buffer size for my MOTU M Series ASIO audio device in the Audio Setup from 128 to 256 and the sound is now fine.
Maybe something like this could also work for you?
Cheers,
Patrik
