Q796 is the first in a series of plug-ins modeled on classic hardware devices. It is a stereo device with stereo sidechain. Built for mastering but great on single instruments.
Features:
- Expander: includes a pump-up mode (compresses LOW levels, makes sound full).
- Compressor:
- Feed-forward (the modern way) and feed-back (the vintage way) modes.
- Sidechain.
- Negative ratio.
- Continuous Peak-RMS set.
- Gain reduction limit (great for invisible squashing).
- Distortion (static and dynamic; starts over the threshold and increases with gain).
- Long time integration (an additional very slow time constant).
- Limiter: a very fast limiter.
The "analog" interface, modeled on the hardware, is integrated in a "digital" frame, for a better control. Three separate graphs show in realtime:
- Input waveform.
- Output waveform.
- Control signal (from Peak to RMS).
- Gain reduction.

Fild enables you to control relative phase, width and stereo image. It consists of three modules: Phase equalizer: relative phase between two tracks heavily affects the sound of the sum of the two. Introducing a simple delay between the tracks cannot match the phases in each frequency band. Specter was developed for mastering but is also very useful on single instruments, groups or effects. The main goal was to make it "transparent". The main difference from other similar effects is that the input signal isn't split in bands. The plug-in continuously calculates an overall response including all the modules and applies it to the input signal, thus avoiding artifacts coming from several effects in series.
