Today's recording environment is quite different from that of even 10 years ago, and recording budgets are not what they used to be. Many top engineers are now working in project studios or even at home, with bits of gear cobbled together to approach a real recording studio. While many advancements in technology have made it possible to get fantastic results in these situations, some aspects of the professional recording studio experience have been lost.
