Anyone doing this?
With the latest BETA it's actually running without crashing or anything - but the display is not ideal. You can't see the waveforms in the top lane unless you select a slice. However, the arranger tracks seem OK.

Caleb

I've tested it in energy xt 2 running on wine / ubuntu, and it works with no problems here. What host do you use with wine?

I've used FST, XT2 and REAPER. From my recollection all had the same problem.ohm wrote:I've tested it in energy xt 2 running on wine / ubuntu, and it works with no problems here. What host do you use with wine?

Ah - definitely never installed compiz. I've never been interested in that.ohm wrote:I'll check it again. I just remembered somthing though: I had compiz running when I tested it - wanted to see LiveSlice on that spinning 3D cube desktop thing
I've tried it on a couple of different distributions with the same result though - Puppy and AVLinux.

Did you get a chance to test this again ohm?
It drives me crazy that the whole application seems to work - but I just can't see anything.
I'm wondering if it's some Microsoft DLL missing that you may have already added to your Linux distro that I don't have? Just a thought.

I figured it out: you simply need to disable alpha-blending to make LiveSlice work in Wine. Go to the LiveSlice Settings page and un-check "use alpha". Simple as that. Even simpler if it just worked of course - I'll investigate if aplha blending is at all possible under Wine - perhaps you do need some specific imaging dll to do that.

Way cool. I will have a play and see how I go.
Thanks for taking the time to figure it out.
