Anyone doing this?

With the latest BETA it's actually running without crashing or anything - but the display is not ideal. You can't see the waveforms in the top lane unless you select a slice. However, the arranger tracks seem OK.

I'm running it in osx (wine) with great success

I've tested it in energy xt 2 running on wine / ubuntu, and it works with no problems here. What host do you use with wine?

I've used FST, XT2 and REAPER. From my recollection all had the same problem.

I'll check it again. I just remembered somthing though: I had compiz running when I tested it - wanted to see LiveSlice on that spinning 3D cube desktop thing :-)

Ah - definitely never installed compiz. I've never been interested in that.
I've tried it on a couple of different distributions with the same result though - Puppy and AVLinux.

Did you get a chance to test this again ohm?

It drives me crazy that the whole application seems to work - but I just can't see anything. :hihi:

I'm wondering if it's some Microsoft DLL missing that you may have already added to your Linux distro that I don't have? Just a thought.

I figured it out: you simply need to disable alpha-blending to make LiveSlice work in Wine. Go to the LiveSlice Settings page and un-check "use alpha". Simple as that. Even simpler if it just worked of course - I'll investigate if aplha blending is at all possible under Wine - perhaps you do need some specific imaging dll to do that.

Way cool. I will have a play and see how I go.
Thanks for taking the time to figure it out.

Yep - seems to work.
Yay - I have LiveSlice back on Linux.

It was like losing an old friend.
