Crysonic has announced the release of two new VST effect plug-ins for Windows - newB, an "Aural Acoustics Based BASS Enhancer" and SINDO, a "Stereo image Expander (Widener) / Narrower with Transparent Mono-Compatibility".

Based on 'Aural Acoustic' principals newB is a bass enhancer and maximizer plug-in that can be used to apply from subtle to extreme bass enhancement and generation during mastering, mixing, tracking and live performance.

newB increases the perceived amount of bass by adding / mixing specific sub-harmonic content from the original bass, thereby allowing our brains to hear lower-frequencies than may exist in the original audio material. The newB process conceptually enhances the bass performance of high and low quality consumer speaker systems ranging from Hi-fi to multimedia speakers found in products such as laptops.

Main features:

  • 5 Bass Presence settings.
  • Original bass can be mixed in 100% or totally replaced.
  • Variable from wide to narrow band high-pass crossover filter for generating sub-harmonics.
  • Simple, intuitive GUI.
  • 24bit/96Khz audio support.
  • Optimized custom DSP code.

Applications:

  • Add bass sub-harmonics to enhance the perceived bass response of speakers.
  • Sharpen, shape, augment and rectify the bass content without effecting other instruments.
  • Extend the perceived frequency response of a speakers beyond their limits.
  • Enhance Bass presence during live performances.

SINDO is a hybrid stereo image expander (widener) / narrower offering high level of mono compatibility with minimal side effects. SINDO can be utilized to broaden and 'sweeten' the spaciousness of the stereo image whilst retaining mono compatibility and not effecting the tonal character of the original sound.

The fatiguing 'phasiness' often found in other processors of this type has been avoided by offering a simple three dial process. A classic phase-compensated 'Shuffler' is also included to enhance and improve the spaciousness of bass frequencies without introducing 'phasiness' .

Main features:

  • Hybrid M / S stereo image expander and narrower.
  • Classic 'Shuffler' for bass stereo enhancement.
  • Transparent and Mono-compatible.
  • Minimum 'Phasiness'.
  • Retains the tonal character of original audio.
  • 8 presets.
  • Full automation for all parameters via the host.
  • Low CPU usage.
  • 64-bit internal precision.
  • 24bit/96Khz audio support.
  • Optimized custom DSP code.

Applications:

  • Transparently enhance the spaciousness of any audio with mono-compatibility.
  • Accurately target and re-adjust stereo level-balance.
  • Widen existing stereo image without artifacts.
  • Enhance bass spaciousness of any audio with mono-compatibility.

Both plug-ins are currently available for the introductory price of $26 each until the end of February 2007. After that they will cost $34.95 each. All Previous Crysonic Customers can purchase the plug-ins for $19.95 each.
