Muse Research, the owner of KVR Audio, has announced that it is now shipping the new, affordable version of their esteemed Receptor line. The new RECEPTOR 2 is a high-performance, super-stable dedicated hardware plug-in player that runs hundreds of virtual instruments and effects with the convenience and portability of dedicated hardware. The RECEPTOR 2 joins the RECEPTOR 2 PRO and the RECEPTOR 2 PRO MAX to complete the series of products.

RECEPTOR 2The RECEPTOR 2 uses a single-core processor and a 250GB SATA 2 hard drive and provides significantly more performance than the previous generation. Additionally, the new RECEPTOR 2 has a sleek, new look with a deep blue front panel, LCD, and blue power LED. The single core AMD processor and high speed DDR-2 RAM of this new second generation of Receptor provide performance that is similar to the previous generation's top-of-the line, but RECEPTOR 2 costs significantly less with a MAP price of only $1999 US.

Includes Plugsound Box Collection for free
The unit also includes $700 worth of sounds in the form of the Univers Sons Plugsound BOX pre-installed and ready to use, you'll find that RECEPTOR 2 lets you start making music instantly with minimal hassle and maximum results.

RECEPTOR 2–Versatile and Affordable
Keyboardists and guitarists will love how RECEPTOR 2 makes their plug-ins perform and feel like real instruments, by running them with super-low latency and massive polyphony. The RECEPTOR 2's new hardware and software has been designed for optimized performance of your favorite virtual instruments and effects, and combines this performance with a number of unique features that make Receptor the ultimate musical instrument.

Advanced features such as Z-Load, Snapshots, our Unified Preset Access feature, and the powerful MIDI filter make this the ideal tool for creating, manipulating and performing with your virtual instruments and effects. Keyboardists will love the whopping 250GB drive for storing all their sample libraries, and guitarists will love the optimized OS for loading up tons of instantly accessible tones and playing with low latency. And all will love the exceptional audio quality of Receptor, making it the choice of touring and studio professionals the world over.

RECEPTOR 2: "Totally" Portable and "Komplete"
Many of the world's biggest bands and most famous artists use Receptor to run their synths, samplers, and effects both in the studio and on the road. That's because Receptor packs massive amounts of power into a 2-rack space box that weighs only 18 pounds. The RECEPTOR 2 delivers even more power than the original, yet has a MAP price of only $1999 US, meaning you can have optimal performance for your virtual instruments and effects without breaking the bank.

If you crave more sounds, you can configure your RECEPTOR 2 with either the IK Multimedia Total Workstation Bundle or the Native Instruments KOMPLETE 5 bundle pre-installed and authorized, significantly expanding the range of sounds at your disposal, all while saving you a bundle of time and money. Clearly RECEPTOR 2 brings an entirely new dimension of how much music creative power you can cram into a compact and portable package.

"Technology never stands in one place for very long. The significantly increased power of the RECEPTOR 2 starts where our previous Receptor Pro left off, which means you can run more plug-ins and play more voices at a lower price point," comments Chris Halaby, CEO of Muse Research. "RECEPTOR 2 is designed to help a musician make more music in the studio or on stage."
