SMPlugins releases Open Guitar
28th November 2008

SMPlugins has announced the release of Open Guitar, a VST instrument for Windows designed for accurate emulation of the beautiful sound of arpeggiated guitar chords in the first position of the fretboard (hence the "open" strings sound).

Open GuitarOpen Guitar sound synthesis is created using single note samples and DSP filters. So it's not a loop player, it's a true instrument that can play any sequence you want. MIDI files are included as examples of accurate guitar sequencing. The "hammer on" and "pull off" techniques are possible.

Guitar models included:

  • Steel
  • Strat
  • Twelve Strings
  • Sitar Guitar
  • Nylon Flamenco

20 MIDI files especially designed for Open Guitar are included.

A demo version with some limitations is freely downloadable. The full version costs $39.
