Fais comme moi, installe les plugins dans une arborescence complètement différente de C:\Program files et C:\Program files (x86).
Je me suis créé:
- Un répertoire C:\MAO\
- Un sous-répertoire C:\MAO\32\
- Un sous-répertoire C:\MAO\32\DAW\
- Un sous-répertoire C:\MAO\32\VST\
J'installe tous mes DAW 32-bits dans C:\MAO\32\DAW\ et tous mes VST 32-bits dans C:\MAO\32\VST\.
Je déclare dans mes DAW 32-bits le répertoire C:\MAO\32\VST\ comme répertoire des plugins.
Et quand j'installe un nouveau plugin VST 32-bits je veille toujours à ce qu'il soit dans un répertoire sous cette forme:
C:\MAO\32\VST\Fabricant\Produit\
C'est tout.
(et j'ai fait l'équivalent pour tout ce qui est 64 bits avec le même principe)
Et je n'ai définitivement plus jamais eu de problème depuis que j'ai choisi cette solution il y a plus d'un an.
Problèmes d'autorisation? Y a plus.
Problème de numéros de série qui refusent de se conserver? Y a plus.
Problème de presets impossibles à installer ou à créer ou à modifier? Y a plus.
La plus grosse connerie de Steinberg a été de choisir en 1998 l'arborescence C:\Program files comme standard pour les VSTs... alors qu'en 1998 Microsoft avait déjà publié des premiers articles préparant la future mise en place d'une protection du répertoire C:\Program files contre les écritures par l'utilisateur.
Et depuis maintenant 15 ans cette absurdité continue... et elle n'est pas prête de s'arrêter puisque pour les VST3 Steinberg a encore choisi cette arborescence. Quand on est stupide... c'est pour la vie.

Do as me, install the plugins in a tree totally different than C:\Program files and C:\Program files (x86).
I have created:
- A tree C:\CM\
- A sub-directory C:\CM\32\
- A sub-directory C:\CM\32\DAW\
- A sub-directory C:\CM\32\VST\
I install all my 32-bit DAWs in C:\CM\32\DAW\ and all my 32-bit VSTs in C:\CM\32\VST\.
I declare in my 32-bit DAWs the directory C:\CM\32\VST\ as common path of the plugins.
And when I install a new 32-bit VST plugin I always take care to install it in a sub-directory named with this pattern:
C:\CM\32\VST\Developer\Product\
That's all.
(and I have done the same for all the 64-bit products with exactly the same principle)
And I'm definitively rid of all these various issues since the day I chose that solution more than one year ago.
Authorization issues? Nevermore!
Serial number which are not written or which are lost? Nevermore!
Presets/patches/banks impossible to install or to create or to modify? Nevermore!
The biggest stupid decision by Steinberg has been in 1998 to choose the tree C:\Program files as standard for the VSTs... when in 1998 Microsoft had already published first public papers announcing the preparation of a future protection for the tree C:\Program files forbidding write actions by the user not logged as administrator of his Windows account!
