I have WinXP/32. I could install it. I got asked for a different 64bit directory. But after install, there is nothing inside this directory. And the dll-file is not recognized by Reaper as an instrument. The EXE does not run. Got an error with something like "not a valid 32bit application". Even Savihost does not open it.

Impressive synth for a first release. Thanks for making it free.
Synister does run here in EnergyXT2(32 bit DAW) on win 10/64. I did not run the installer but extracted the files with zip7.
A couple of things that I'd like to see, ability to set a user patch folder location as the default load directory and I am not really a fan of the tabbed GUI.
It does have a unique sound and at the end of the day it's the sound that matters.
Thanks

Sorry for thatlayzer wrote:same here, EnergyXT2 and savihost both can't open it, get an error "failed to open synister"photonic wrote:Hi,Mahal wrote:We didn't test on XP, but you could give it a try. Yes, we had some intense discussions about the tabbed UI as well. In the end, we had to make some compromize... Maybe a later release will at least adapt the window size to the currently opened tabs, so that you don't have to scroll if your screen is big enough

But don't forget to leave a link to where to download the SDK in the README, though.

Anyone know how to trigger the step sequencer in your DAW for this (I use StudioOne but any direction should help)? I couldn't find a midi function for step sequencer off/on. Thanks.
Even I was offended by what I was going to put here.

I like it, the step sequencer is genius, set it to random and let it play instant autechre/subotnick album
I would like more waveforms than just square/triangle/noise for the OSCs though
And it is rather CPU intensive, it can reach 50 in my FL Studio

Thanks for the test! We'll probably add a Linux build to the GitHub page.rghvdberg wrote:seems this thing is fairly easy to compile for linux

The plugin currently does not support this feature. You might want to file a feature request on the project's GitHub pageChemik wrote:Anyone know how to trigger the step sequencer in your DAW for this (I use StudioOne but any direction should help)? I'm surprised Synister doesn't get more love on KVR.
Awesome synth. Personally, I'm also a big fan of the tabbed GUI; it reminds me of another free favorite, TAL-Noisemaker! (Re: tabbed GUI: It's funny, I see mostly complaints about Synister in this old thread, yet looking in other old threads elsewhere on KVR, people praised TAL-Noisemaker up and down. I guess it all depends on who the developer is...shame.)
Thanks for this free gem!
