Another big Wotja update going live today - Wotja 21.7.2

Plugin version (Lite) does not follow transport in Live 11. It does pick up the tempo from Live though.
Also, the VST3 only generates music for 2 minutes in the plugin, while it is set to 30 minutes in the app (again in the free version). Is this intended?

Thanks Pete and a Happy New Year to you and Tim!
You have both clearly put a lot of effort into Wotja 22 and the revamped website which is also looking good. So congrats to you on that. I bought iPad Wotja 20 Pro a couple of years back, so I know how you carry on the work throughout the year to improve and develop each new version. I am looking forward to trying out the new functionality in W22.
- Waves plugins: All of my Waves plugins are installed/registered correctly as far as I can tell via Windows Central. They all scan and work fine with my other DAWs - Cubase Pro 11, Studio One Pro 5, Cakewalk by Bandlab and even Unify/Cantabile plus some others which I use less often. However, of all my plugins the ones that have caused more problems than any other in the past have been Waves, second only to Antares (especially Harmony engine). So I completely understand there being a problem with these in Wotja. If It helps I can post a video showing what happens during scanning. Then again, the availability of a plugin in Wotja 22 for Windows will be the reason for me buying the pro version this time as that is how I am most likely to use it. So if these Waves/Antares problems cannot be circumvented, then it's not that much of a biggie so long as the plugin works.
- Plugin: I have now found the "Show Plugin" option in the standalone Wotja Help menu which works and allows me to copy it to the more usual location ( C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 ). This now works fine with the limited testing I have done in Cubase Pro 11 and Cakewalk by Bandlab. However, there does seem to be an issue with sync on Studio One Pro 5 - the Wotja plugin with the Play me 22 Flow selected will play independently of Studio One but the transport in Studio One does not start/stop Wotja and seems to be locked up.
Cheers,
ZT

Hi Pete, happy new year and thanks for popping in! I'm way out of my depth but this seems to be on the topic of the msix-installer limitations:impete wrote: Sat Jan 01, 2022 12:36 pm [...]
I know this isn't ideal, but we've had to build our Wotja 22 distributions using .msix installer format (that are used by the Windows Store behind the scenes), and Microsoft have been unable to explain to me how to have one of these install our VST3 to the desired target folder. I'm sure it must be possible, but currently I've simply been unable to find-out how to do it.
So for now, the solution we've adopted is the only one that seems to "work" even if imperfect!
Best wishes,
Pete

Basically the solution suggested is to copy the file over at first run, not on the actual install.

Many thanks for that. I'd thought about that, but was concerned that it might fail due to file permissions, and that it also might be at odds with anti-virus systems.wasi wrote: Sat Jan 01, 2022 2:43 pm Hi Pete, happy new year and thanks for popping in! I decided in the end that it might be best for the user to do manually, rather than having the app automatically write a DLL elsewhere in the system. I hope our users find that OK - at least it works
Best wishes, Pete

Hi Pete - great job on v22. It's really nice being able to load it into the DAW as a VST3, even though it took some effort setting it up. We were just exchanging emails and like I said, Wotja is absolutely awesome! Huge upgrade. Just left my review on the MS Store.

Thank you so very much - great reviews are critical to keeping us going with Wotja!gondii wrote: Sat Jan 01, 2022 3:02 pm Hi Pete - great job on v22. The Roland Cloud VSTs don't draw properly. For example, the D-50 only draws a tiny upper left corner of the GUI.

First off, congrats Intermorphic on taking the time and pursuing this approach to making music. I should have bought-in years ago when I first saw Noatikl.
My first impressions are mixed. Mostly things are positive. But I do want to comment on a few things.
1. Unconventional interface. I get the idea of presenting things differently because maybe it lends to new approaches to an old paradigm. However, it must be said, it doesn't lead to rapid adoption. It's gonna take some time to wrap my head to why things are laid out like this. Even the many different font sizes are a bit distracting. It doesn't cause me to focus on the area that should have my attention at any given time.
2. Hover Tool Tips. Just sayin'... I haven't been along for the ride since way back when. As a new user I need to inform you guys that I don't know that clicking on a wand with a sparkling tip leads me to the Random menu (as just one example). A little help would be nice across the app.
3. Almost didn't buy your app because you decided to go thru the MS store. Once again, just sayin'... Maybe you could reach out to other small devs to see how they make money and still don't make their users go thru the Apple or MS app store. I, and many others, prefer to install the software ourselves to have some control over install locations and versioning on our machines.
As a suggestion...It would be nice to collapse each section in the Groups area.
In addition I dropped a bug report via your website. It's not a show stopper but I thought you all should know. And I don't need a response right away. I'm sure you all are busy.
The document updates and the tutorial videos will improve over time so I am not worried about this.
Once again, Thanks for this. I like it. I am on vacation this week and I am sure to spend ample time with Wotja 22 Pro. Keep up the good work!

Probably best to add any new comments on Wotja 22 there.
