Isn't it abandonware (officially)?
Don't KH concentrate on this Phase Plant thing?

Post

Kilohearts here: Yeah, don't expect any actual updates. This version number thing was just so confusing we had to deal with it.

Kind of a pity, I like the limited scope of One, Phase Plant is too much and a strange concept for a synth...

I like One as well for its simplicity. Phas Plant (although I love it) is kind of overkill sometimes. I just keep wanting to make the patch more complicated all the time.... (which says more about me than Phase Plant)

Same here. Really like One.

I like KHS One the way it is, only thing it misses resizable GUI even on a simple scale like Dune 3 with different skin sizes.

There are always things to improve, among them a bigger, and not so gloomy GUI, indeed.

I'd sort of moved on from One until a couple of weeks ago, when I dredged up something I'd done a couple of years ago, where I had needed to replace some parts in an existing song because of our move to 64 bit. I'd thought of One as a bit of a stodgy, basic synth - if it was a footballer he'd be called a "journeyman" - but the two parts it is doing in this song are really, really good. They are things I thought would be very hard to replicate - one was an FM patch from Toxic and the other had a looping envelope with automated decay to speed it up and slow it down - but One has replaced both brilliantly. It's put it back on my list of "remember to use this more" synths, which is where it should have been all along.

BTW, I like the GUI - functional, easy to look at all day and no pointless flashy bits.

Personally I love the GUI and hope the devs never change it, but it could certainly use resize ability.

Kilohearts here again.

The main reason we are giving up on kHs ONE is that it's the very first plugin we built. We learned a lot during that time, and as a result all the following plugins use a shared code base. It is a big operation to maintain and develop that code base, and our time is limited. So making changes to the one product that falls outside that scope is unfortunately both impractical and hard to do because of the poorer code quality.

We love kHs ONE too (hehe, see what I did there?), and it will be around for a while longer. Just not getting any updates.

That's fine, it doesn't need any updates. It works great just as it is.
