Agreed, what the hell is up with these big companies taking all the good stuff? We WOULD like to have a company that isn't owned by big companies, so the products will stay of good quality and still be reasonably priced.

Good Lord...Just bought Wizooverb in the nick of time then.
I've got to say, the W2 is the best verb I've ever used.

But they did change the lifetime limited warranty on M-Audio product to one year limited, what, 2 weeks after the buyout.shamann wrote:I generally try to avoid large corporations, but at least to Digidesign's credit, when they bought M-Audio, they didn't crap it up immediately afterward.
Thankfully they do respect the warranty terms for those who bought before the policy change, but still...

I did not realize they bought Izotope. I own three of their products, but have not checked for updates in quite a while.

Digidesign are the small one on this list, they were bought by Avid a long time ago...In fact it's Avid who has M-audio, Izotope, Digidesign, etc...shamann wrote:Digidesign, Sony, Yamaha.
Soon, they will own us all.
On the first page of Digidesign you can read: Copyright © 1996-2005 Avid Technology, Inc. All Rights Reserved

Oh, I don't know.shamann wrote:Digidesign, Sony, Yamaha.

All someone would have to do would be to say "No"!
I remember hearing about one of the smaller islands in the west indies (this was right about when Cancun lost its soul) that Club Med tried to buy. The guys who owned the land (they were poor fishermen for the most part) would have none of it.
"I already got a million dollars" I remember one of them being quoted as saying.
I kept that article for a long time before losing it in a hasty move.
What a triumph of the human spirit that line was.

An awful lot of people would have to say "No" to curb corporate buyouts. Probably have to pass some legislation too.herodotus wrote:Oh, I don't know.shamann wrote:Digidesign, Sony, Yamaha.

I wonder what this will do to Wizoo and the VST standard. Question is whether Wizoo will continue to make VST (or other native) products, or they will strictly focus on the DigiDesign ProTools enviroment.
