PCM-4 soundfont player
https://app.box.com/s/60ix6d8wi65iivlrta1q
it is synthedit, win32
here's a first draft of a 4x soundfont player with keyboard and vel zones.
it's a 'quick'(...) cut-down version of a bigger thing i was getting bogged
down with -and i have made some edits + decided on some more stuff
needed (without getting overcomplicated) since zipping this up, so
there's already an update in the pipeline, but this is the essence of it.
i don't know if it i really useful/usable yet. wondered what it would
come out like, and here it is. it would be good to get some preferences
re: layout (forget it, i'm keeping panels!! ), and ideas *within the
limited scope* of what i want it to do. i already have a version on the go
with more envelopes, lfos and stuff, and want this focused on trying out
soundfonts togther, trying out splits(ha do these evn work correctly lol
i can't remember, made the method for that ages ago)
it is quite primitive and you can, of course, do all this by other means
(samples etc) but there's gigs of soundfonts out there, (not least the
huge collection left to us by HGFortune). in fact it is partially inspired
by an old free wav loading plugin i liked called 'Cochise'.
oh yeah: you can change text and background colour don't
know if that is useful but BlackWinny will be able to get the contrasts
he wants. maybe it's good for differentiating patch types or instances?

Had a quick play, will give it some more attention at the weekend, I like the fact that it can read banks of soundfonts, useful for flicking through my CZ101, Matrix 1000 or SY22 sets without having to keep replacing the bank
All is good

It definitely works, the only soundfonts I have on here right now are my synthedit ones so I had to test it with those.

yeah i've just used GM etc. ones from my synthedit/audio folder until
now. don't know if keyrange is accurate(numerically, by key), it
should be, but i had to put a rescaler in there, don't know where
i got the volt values from(..) and i think i applied the same to the
velocity > so keys could be ok while velocity may be wrong (but
nobody know what velocity value they are playing anyway)
thing is, you're going to be the same with samples, aren't you?
you have this month/year's sample harvest onboard, but the rest
you've backed off to another drive. what i do anyway, in spite of
best intentions.
going to add an envelope for filter. not for pitch, and no LFOs,
that'll be enough. the GUI jumps about a bit. i started all this off
with an experiment with 4 multifunction knobs and buttons to change
panels/views, not really just 4 knobs, went quite deep with a menu
of buttons, and then decided to simplify the whole thing
it isn't quite right yet.
large amounts of soundfonts via Music-Society in large packs.
