I was reading about this one the other day, you can find tons of preset banks for the original .sys DX7 format in places like:

Yeah, OSC is really the (second) best way to get experience. Topped only by full-on school type courses. Anyway DEXED is pretty nice, I've already completed a track. Well, a 4-bar kick drum only track. But nonetheless, a track!

As a "rompler guy" (look at my signature) the only FM experience i had was when i was using a FB-01 coupled with a Viscount EFX-1 to emulate distorted guitars.... so, basically, i just know FM in theory.
This OSC will be hard

Had some quick tests with my DX7 syx files. They may be bad or load function is not correct.
Get unusual results with this ...

Good news is this synth loads all you put in. I found some PDF files sounding better than the syx files.

Ok, and I am out... Tried Dexed a while ago and while I have some basic knowledge of FM it was horrible to use here, and I really don't fancy browsing the web for presets. I will be looking forward to seeing what the sound design masters here will come up with as I generally like the sound of FM. Have fun!
