I had not checked automation with Falcon yet buit just tested it in Live 9.5 64-bit on Windows 10 64-bit.Thavma wrote:Hi there!
I can't do automation in FL studio v11 and v12
Nothing!!!
Is there anyone using Falcon and FL studio?
Thanks!
Usually in lIve i add automations by activating the "Configure" button in the device panel and then add synth controls by moving them in the plugin. At the first try this did not work.
Then i found that you first have to define those controls in Falcon that should be available for host automation and the amount of automations are limited to 128.
To add a certain control/knob in Falcon to the list for host automation you should right-click that knob/switch, move the mopuse to "add to host automation" and add that knob/Switch to one of the 128 entries in the drop-down list that appears at that menu entry in Falcon.
Once a certain knob/switch is added to that list in Falcon it is also available for host automation, at least here in Live 9.

Hi,Thavma wrote:Oh thank you man!
That's something!!!!
Cheerssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice to hear that i couod be helpful.
That system with first having to assign needed host automations in Falcon first looks strange but as Falcon is modular it seems to be difficult to have a predefined list of automations like with most other synths.
For using Falcon with a MIDI controller you could also use the MIDI Learn feature included with the right-click menu for the knobs/faders/switches.

Please read the manual first.
Also watch the videos by Dan Worall, they're on YouTube - this one ought to get you started: . Get acquainted with what Falcon can do. Forums are not supposed to be manuals.

Hi,Thavma wrote:I have seen that man.
The filter modulation ADSR it isn't working in standalone for me either.
maybe this screenshot helps:

The envelope at the bottom appears when clicking on the Cutoff knob, as long as that enevlope is properly assigned to the Cutoff. Usually always the related modulation source appears when clicking on a certain knob. You could also right-click on the knob and clikc on "Edit modulations".
I marked the Cutoff control, the envelope controls and the fader for the envelope amount with red color.
For the envelope amount fader (this could be also a negative amount) i also added a red arrow and a red label.
For testing the Cutoff envelope the Cutoff amount should be set to a medium value or lower. You could also try using the values in that screnshopt for testing.

If you're trying to modulate effects at Program or Layer level, envelope modulations will not work. They will only work at Keygroup level.

I just checked this with a filter module. With using a filter at program level it still seems to be possible to use a filter envelope.EvilDragon wrote:If you're trying to modulate effects at Program or Layer level, envelope modulations will not work. They will only work at Keygroup level.
Anyway in that case the envelope must be added at program level too. Layert or Keygroup envelopes will not work at program level. On the other hand an envelope created at program level will also work with lower levels like Layer or Keygroup.
Like in the example in my screenshot above filters are usually added at keygroup level and in that case also envelopes craeted at program or Layer level should work for modulation.

Yes, you can add it at program level but it DOES NOT WORK. This was mentioned in the big Falcon thread some days ago.
Did you even try it? It does not work. Add a filter at Program level. Modulate that filter's cutoff with a Program level envelope. It does not work. It's not supposed to work, even. There has been a whole discussion about it.

you are correct. You could add both a filter and an envelope at program level but the envelope will not work then.
Personally i always used a filter on keygroup level (like in my screenshot above) so i did not seem to notice that issue so far.
So maybe it would be cool that you would not be able to add modulations that are not supposed to work. In that case thosecould be greyed out.
BTW that big thread is now so big that it became difficult to really follow everything that is discussed there.

Using an envelope for filter modulation only seems to work if the filter is added at keygroup level.Thavma wrote:Thanks so much guys, I finally realised that the filter envelope is done in Keygroup node.
Thank you so much!!!
In that case using an envelope at keygroup level seems to work too but opposing to the filter the envelope could be also added at a higher level like Layer or Program to get it working with the filter.
