Dune BE/CM didn't go magware, it's a slimmed down version of Dune 1, which lacks the fx section, and for Dune CM, also lacks one page of the mod matrix. Also, you can't get a hold of Z3TA+ anymore, because Cakewalk "ran out of serials" (which probably means they got p***ed off by people grabbing it illegitamately), same with Rapture. There's very few plugins which really "got magware", after being sold, the Tone2 stuff comes to mind e.g., Firebird, Warmverb, BiFilter, Filterbank, all came as magware on the Beat magazine's DVD.

Do you not realise the importance of lists at kvr??! They are *extremely* important and vital to the continued good health of many high post count members.Carbonflake wrote:Why?

I don't get this list thing either, but if izonin is really into it, click on my signature and then search for "now free" (without the quotation marks). I occasionally make a note of such things but it's enough to help your list grow.

Thanks, I'll check that link.bob bobwood wrote:I don't get this list thing either, but if izonin is really into it, click on my signature and then search for "now free" (without the quotation marks). I occasionally make a note of such things but it's enough to help your list grow.
And I'm not doing it for myself, just thought I'd help the community. Lots of people who come to kvr want to start making music, but are not sure if free stuff is good enough for production.

I like the idea of this list. I am not always aware of the status of commercial plugins going free. Obviously it would be subcategory of the free vst list and I think it could be useful. The original list is fantastic and I really appreciate the effort that goes into it. I recently resuurected a bunch of old song files from 2003 to 2008 and was able to recall most of my song files and more than once I found some missing plugins from that thread that I was able to jbridge and open on my 64bit machine. - Scotty

Maxsynths stuff used to be payware

As for Z3ta, afaik it was a limited time offer, you can't get it now for free or as a magware.

Probably because they aren't what the OP asked for, which is "Ex-commercial synths".surreal wrote:I like this list.. lets continue.. why not add commercial quality free synths ie UheTyrell and Zebralette..

Zebralette used to be bundled only with Zebra... but now it's freeware.

Yes, Zebralette qualifies. And Zebra CM is the mag version of Zebra 1, so maybe should be added, too.surreal wrote:I like this list.. lets continue.. why not add commercial quality free synths ie UheTyrell and Zebralette.. well Zebra cm is really cool!!
