Just found that I can swap my elicenser code to a simple email/code auth
Dear customer,

on 01. December 2016 we switched to our new in house licensing system. This gives you the ability to unlock your purchased software products with a simple activation procedure using your email and an activation key. You are also eligible to install your software on up to 3 computers.

To make use of the new licensing system, you need to convert your purchased eLicenser activation code. To do so, please follow the steps here:

Enter your eLicenser activation code below. You should find it in your purchase confirmation mail or inside the box, if you purchased a boxed version.
For example : 0240 XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Click on "Redeem".

Your new activation code will apear along with a download link. You need to download, deinstall the old version and install the new version of your Waldorf software, before you can activate it.

Hands up all of those - like me - who threw the box away and doesn't have the email information anymore... I thought this was why we had the eLicemser.

Bad news for pro tools 10 customers - seems aax 32bit is not supported anymore.

Send an e-mail to support. I'm sure they will find a way to solve your problem.

I feel your anger about the change in copy protection. Normally, I don't keep my e-licenser activation codes, too, fortunatelly I didn't trash my ppg3 one. So, I'm a happy camper regarding this VST. But I never got a notification about the whole process, only read it over at uad-forum, found nothing on the waldorf site, and now here. Such a bad move for some customers.

Hope you got it solved with their support!

What if one gets something new?

Will it be like Waldorf Edition, i.e. input email and serial -> done?

If so then thats a great change towards customer friendliness because once you have your email/serial pair you can theoretically reinstall and authorize forever without being dependent on any external factors.

(At least thats how it is with WE.)

Yup, works exactly like that! Works like a charm.
I actually installed Nave now with the new copy protection after not having it installed because of elicenser.

I had to search a bit before I got how it works (I didn't get an email). You have to make an account in the MyWaldorf section of the website, when logged in, there's a menu to change the elicenser code to a new activation code.

Very good news,

Does anyone knows how license transfers work now?

I do not find it on the Waldorf homepage.

Yep. They handed me a new license key, although I didn't have the eLicenser activation code.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

So Arturia abandoned Steinberg eLicenser, and now Waldorf is doing the same.

Except XILS which other third party devs are still using that copy protection system?

Vienna, for one.
