Hi guys, so I managed to collect quite few samples of well respected clones, and decided to share them in a new topic. This is no scientific comparison, it is more about showing the differences in the tonewheels and leslie sound. All files have been processed through the same subtle rematrix reverb and added just a touch of compression to bring the sound forward. That's it. Thanks are going to friends who kindly provided some of the samples. So, let's get to the point:

There are few still missing here, mainly the Arturia's B-3 V and AIR's DB-33, I'll try to add them later. Not sure if I missed anything, let me know if having any more requests.

I would like to hear your opinions on any of the organs, so feel free to post your comments. Thanks!

*ADDED 03 August '17: Four new organs added from NI, Steinberg, Arturia and AIR Music Tech! Still missing some... like the HX3 for example. Unfortunately I don't have anybody to ask for it, as for today ( :help: ).

That's not a bad idea at all! And... I have a friend who reads my mind ;)

Surprising how close Vintage Organs falls to B4 in sound.

Would you by any chance have access to a real B3 or A100 for the comparison?

(and the facilities to record it, of course)

Ha! I still have access to A100, not so often anymore, maybe once in a few months. But I don't have any recording gear, and even if I had, I wouldn't know how to record the organ properly and produce it into a professional track. But I adore your idea :D.

Too bad...

Might end the discussion of "sounds like a Hammond" vs "sounds like my previous favorite Hammond plugin" once and for all ;)

Doubt it! Honestly, I would expect more of a pandora's box out of it :hihi: really, I believe every plugin in the shootout was made with care and attention to details and with love to the hammond's sound. But the differences in approach in taking the sound, microphones, room factor, interpretation on how to put all those pieces together into a plugin, and even the organs itself, is what made them so different. And I'm affraid that would be my case too :P.

Besides, I remember when I was applying for beta testing Blue3, I had a short email conversation with a guy from GG-audio, and he said he has the experience in recording the Hammonds and in live sound mixing, now that's probably why Blue3 sounds to me like the Hammonds from many of my favorite tunes. I have zero experience in recording, imagine how would my sound :drunk: :nutter: LOL.

Try right click and open in new window. Sorry, I have no idea how to make them more available in dropbox and google drive. I've been through all the settings there and didn't find anything I could change to make them more accessible. Maybe somebody knows a better place to keep the files (for free)...?

Anybody?

Thanks a lot for this great shootout!
It would be nice now to add VB3II and Blue3 v2

BTW VB3 v1.4 is not shareware. It's just discontinued.

Haven't listened to these yet here at work but I'm interested (and a bit fearful :D) how Logic's organ will fare. So far I've rationalized that I don't need to replace it lol! Actually I do think it sounds decent and I don't play a ton of organ at home. I did get 3rd party piano and rhodes plugins and I think the new ones are quite a bit better than the Logic offerings. Synth, I definitely have the "ooo shiny" when it comes to this area, but frankly I really need to sit down and give the Logic synths a real go first before deciding I need an "upgrade"!

Heard great things about Blue and B5 especially though....and for my live use I'm debating a Mojo 61 vs electro 6d. If it was just for organ, I'd get the Mojo, but the synth library and pianos make a strong case for the electro....argh!

IMO Logic's organ is amazing.
