I just did a Windows Defender scan of my plugins folder and I got an alert that Ransom:Win32/WannaCrypt.A!rsm affects file: D:\SynthMaster One\GUIEditor.exe . I removed it but maybe others should try scanning their Synthmaster folders as well.

I've read of false positive Wannacry Warnings kicked up by Windows Defender in other software recently. I've scanned all the kv331 files with Bitdefender Total Security 2018 and all came back as clean.
Virus Total only shows 1 out of 66 and that one is M$:

Recent report of false positive in a now obsolete FL Studio installer:

Cool, I hope it's nothing, but I deleted the file anyway.

Yes I suppose it can't hurt to get rid of it. To be honest I don't think I've ever even tried the GUI Editor.

I'd recommend to send it in to Microsoft. You can either do that from Windows Defender itself, if the file is in the quarantine, or you can do it via this website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/filesubmissionbraj wrote:Cool, I hope it's nothing, but I deleted the file anyway.

What SMO are you running? I'm Lazy and haven't updated mine so I am running 1.1.4 instead of the newer 1.1.6. The SMO GUI editor I have is not setting off anything (Using windows defender also) so it seems this could be a newer issue/False Positive with the newer build perhaps?
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

Apart from that, we're talking about a false positive here, if you may not have noticed it.

Seriously - I use and love Macs but promoting this kind of ignorance with statements this dumb IMHO increases the risk of malware/viruses spreading.chk071 wrote:Dream on...realmarco wrote:get a Mac and you'll never have to deal with this shit

With the increased popularity and usage of the Mac platform, the malware made for it has also increased. Your comment is increasingly outdated and ignorant.realmarco wrote:get a Mac and you'll never have to deal with this shit

Guys, that was a false positive. But to be on the safe side I compiled the GUIEditor again and updated the installer on the server.
