iPhone apps & bluetooth speaker.

I got a Cambridge Audio bluetooth speaker for Christmas for both listening to music and jamming with music apps anywhere i could.
Some apps go straight to the speakers but others just play sound from iPhone speaker. Moog Filterton is one that doesn't, in iPhone settings the playback cane be changed to bluetooth. This setting doesn't work. Node beat & imaschine are others that don't play through bluetooth.
Anyone got any ideas why this happens and how i can get Filtertron through my bluetooth speaker.

First off, I think some of these Bluetooth speakers are pretty damn amazing. Most are hyped for certain frequencies (bass mostly), and rightly so considering the audience they are geared for, but I wanted one that would be more flat so I could use it to check mixes against headphones when not at home. (Nothing serious)
I eventually settled on a G-Grip, which is very smooth across the spectrum compared to all of the others I tried at best Buy and Target.
Now, on to the apps that don't allow use of Bluetooth. Of course the main point is that the latency is too great for use in live overdubbing so Auria and Garageband etc. probably won't allow BT use.
So far Guitarism is the only one I've tried that doesn't come through the BT. Alchemy mobile originally closed every time I tried, but started working after a reboot.
To be honest, the delay doesn't seem to be more than about 20ms on the G-Grip.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I've only been trying through the iPad so far. Will have to try iPhone versions soon.

My understanding is that anything that uses the core audio function can't use Bluetooth at the same time. I am bummed too. My wife bought me a Bose Soundlink II for Christmas and I was planning to use it for practicing my guitar through my iPad but it doesn't work, at least wirelessly. I have to plug an audio cable into it

Good idea, and it reduces latency! Looks like the Cambridge Minx 100 at least has 3.5mm and RCA inputs at the back.kurrykid wrote:I have to plug an audio cable into it

True, the latency would make real-time performance a disappointing experience which is why we don't have apps like AmpliTube or SampleTank output via Bluetooth and why we built the iRig circuit (and a direct input) into our speaker (iLoud - http://www.ikmultimedia.com/iloud )

Thanks for info. looks like I will be digging the cables out too.
It was vital that the speakers I got did have a 3.5mm jack for use with my DSi for korg apps too. Flac player has bluetooth options but recommends using leads for quality reasons.

For anyone looking for portable / living room monitoring and not caring too much about getting really loud, here is a tip. Grundig GSB500, to be had in Europe for less than 100 euro. I just bought one and I am very impressed with the balanced output of this little speaker. No hyped boomy bass, but clear bass presence to hear what the bass player is up to. Of course no Irig functionality, but still very usable with a usb/ cck guitar interface and 3.5 mm cable. Or with an irig keys or other keyboard to play synths. Thoroughly impressed
