Just upgraded to the V-Collection 4 and just installing the plugins. The new Arturia Software Center seems to work nicely so far.

With the demo of Matrix-12V i was missing some low end but solved it by using the free Klanghelm IVGI Saturation and the PSP NobleQ EQ.

As just mentioned i just upgrade to the V-Collection 4 and after installing and activating the plugins i just found a problem with the full version of Matrix-12V.

With the 64-bit VST3 plugin in Cubase 7.5.30 64-bit i found that the current patches are not saved with the Cubase project. after re-loading the project the default patch is loaded again.
With the 64-bit VST2 in Live 9.1.6 64-bit the last used patch seems to be saved and re-loaded properly with the project. also checked with the VSt2 plugin in Cubase 7.5.30 64-bit (had to delete the VST3 plugin for that which normally is used by default) and it also seems to work properly so it seems to be a problem with the VST3 plugin.

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit. So far i have niot check if other VST3 plugins show the same issues.

UPDATE:
Added as support ticket #190273.

I had a problem with the Matrix-12V VST3 on Studio One (win8.1x64) in that it wouldn't generate sound.

I ran it in Live (the VST2) which worked fine, and then tried again in Studio One with the VST3 and it worked okay.

It seems they're a bit.... fragile ;)

Spark2 software is quite nice so I'm glad they're including it with the new V-collection. I have the SparkLE which is a great controller, and I'm using that software for all my beats. Was pretty affordable compared to something like Maschine, while not seeming to lack in workflow or features to where I would ever wish I had that instead.

I found that like others reported for different plugins like Solina and Vox there also seems to be a problem with the Reverb in Matrix-12V.

For example with the Preset patch "Brassus Maximus EN" there is a huge CPU load and it could max out my CPU easily. If i deactivate the Reverb FX it first seems to stay the same but if i save the Cubase project and then re-load the project the CPU load is much less than before. Anyway it is still quite high compared to some other patches while it does not seem to use Unison. Switching off the Chorus in that patch reduces the CPu too but only a bit and not as drastic as with the Reverb.

I checked this with the 64-bit VST2 plugin in Cubase 7.5.30 64-bit at Windows 7 64-bit.
Matrix-12V version is 1.0.0.414.

UPDATE:
I added a support ticket #190261 for this.

seems to be host related - same patch here (on a i7-4770 running win7x65 and reaper 4.75x64) I'm getting 3.3% load (reaper perf meter - 29% according to the internal m12 cpu meter - so they're obviously talking per core wheras reaper is talking total load across all cores) or the original patch, drops to 3.1% (25% internal meter) if I turn off the reverb. Buffer size is 128 bytes - are you running a smaller buffer (could be one of those fun time critical things that go haywire with small buffers)

Actually i am using quite big buffers like 256 or 512. I am observing that specific problem only with teh Reverb on. BTW my CPU is a quite old Core 2 Quad Q6600, not a modern i7.

BTW like i already mentioned i see the change in CPU use after deactivating the Reverb and then saving and re-loading the project. Directly after switching it off i don't see the difference.

I still find it funny to think of the Q6600 being "old". What I remember most is when I got it, I felt I could run EVERYTHING! I still use it for sim racing. But my new i7 is my studio computer.

Are there any Bether update options if you own v-collection and spark 2,

I think it's a difference if you get 3 or 4 new products.

Hi Kevin or Denis

I wondered about the Arturia forum and if there is some issue. I posted this early 4 December 2014 and still see this:

Hello all

For the most part, I have had a positive experience with Keylab 25, and Keylab 49, Mini V, and the V3 Collection on my Windows 8.1 pc, and my Yosemite.

However, the switch to the new ASC seems to indicate a "challenge" to activation and losing old settings and software.

If you do not upgrade to ASC, does it disable the elicense system at some future date?
New updates, even, with the old system, seem for some folks problematic. What if I do not ever upgrade? Was there actually beta testing, and if there was, adequately and lengthily, a group that can mollify concerns about updates and upgrades?

I see that I now have a coupon for VC4. Can I keep VC3 on one system and upgrade to VC4 on the other, and keep both systems authorized/activated?

Finally, I myself appreciate the hard work Arturia must be incurring, but I am concerned that overwhelming or catastrophic updates/upgrades might be some sort of a disincentive.

Cheers

I just wondered if there were problems with my posting, OR, it struck a nerve with a moderator? :)

The same problem with patches not saved with the Cubase project is also found with the VST3 of Solina V while it works properly with the VST2 plugin.

As this happens with both Matrix-12v and Solina V maybe there is also a problem with other VST3 plugins like e.g. Vox V. Will try to check that ASAP.

UPDATE:
Now also found this problem with the VST3 plugin of Vox V. I hope this is not a general problem with the VST3 plugins. With Wurlizter V it seem to work properly. In all 3 plugins with the VST2 plugin (and also with AAX) this seems to work properly.

This reminds me a bit of the latest updates for the Waldorf plugins. At the beginning with the VST3 plugins we had comparable problems there.

Hello, does anyone know if there is there an OFFLINE installer for V Collection 4?

I rather download gigabytes at a friends place with a fast internet connection rather than waiting for hours at my terrible connection at home that drops out during download. Thank you ;)

if you just download the latest separate product installers and run them, asc will just do the activtion - I did that and it worked fine (you can find them all here : http://www.arturia.com/support/updates&manuals )

Post

I updated all my VC-3 synths via the new ASC app (which will do the download as well as install and authenticate), and by accident I just saw the actual installer .exe's were downloaded to my default User downloads folder. So if you use ASC for the downloads, you can still find the install .exe's in that folder and do the actual install later. But I guess it's just easier to do what jdnz suggests.
