Anymore it's just guitar and linnstrument. I used to be a keyboard player and a bassist. I could knock out some covers fairly well on both. I tried forever to get some tabla (grid style finger drumming) but I finally gave up the ghost. I also tried harmonica and sucked badly. I know this doesn't count but I can sing and accompany myself on guitar.

I don't play the linnstrument nearly as much as I should but I fall in love with it every time I do.

I'm a guitar player but I probably spend 90% of the time playing with synthesizers. I just love making weird sounds with them and a lot of pads/ambient type stuff.

About the only songs I used to be able to play are some simple Vangelis tunes like Hymn, Chariots of Fire, etc. but I've forgotten them already.

I’m primarily a bassist (over 40 years) and pianist/keyboardist/synthesist (about the same). I’m pretty much a complete hack on guitar (those little razor blade strings are painful), but I get by for recording simple strumming and melody lines. I played trumpet through high school and a little in college - I can still technically play one, but my embouchure has been toast for decades. I’m also a pretty good air drummer, but I like to mix in some body parts (e.g., thighs, chest, skull).

For the past half year, I've been using a DAW called Gridshift that has three different musical keyboards, and that is now the instrument I play most.

I can’t really claim to “play” any instrument. :hihi: I used to be a decent bassist, and it is still what I play the best, but picking one up has become a rarity. I can fumble through a few basic chords on guitar when a track calls for it. I have a couple of other things around that I can’t play at all but occasionally enjoy messing around with anyway. And then there is the one instrument that I really do want lean how to play but know that is out of reach so I settle for just enjoying the exploration into the unknown whenever I pick it up.

I mostly into synths but I stink on keys and pads so I only play short simple chunks into a sequencer, straight up step sequence, or simply focus on sound design instead of composition.

Play the bass on my songs and as a guitarist that means following the guitar tracks 95% of the time. Synths for ambient stuff. Oh and I play stupid too sometimes when my wife want me to do some things I don’t want to do and she end up doing it her self.

Same here but I also like making weird sounds on guitar.

As a guitarist I should be living my best life. I can still play covers that I've played 10/20/30/40 years ago and they sound even better today due to the advent of modern mfx and proper guitars. To be honest that fades quickly as I play them for myself alone in my apartment.

I've played many genre's with various approaches. Travis Picking is still a rough go even though I practice and develop it daily. Sometimes I think it will be a year before I can learn the travis picking songs I know and love.

The linnstrument started off great. I'd previously played keys well enough to support my guitar playing and played them for easy covers in bands. I never really loved playing keyboards it was always a means to an end. I love the linntrument and I was quickly playing covers that I'd previously only wished I could play on keys. That's faded and I'm now seeing huge holes in my keyboard education which hasn't translated to the linnstrument. Some basic piano patterns now evade me. Nonetheless the linnstrument is always an adventure when I reclaim my time with it.
