Winamp analyzer

Hi.
I want to ask about winamp (classic skin) analyzer. Could anyone tell me about range(?) of it? I mean how deep goes volume range not freq. I think it's - 12 db(PIC). Am I right ? Maybe it's a little bit weird question but I "see" a lot of tracks on in an i want make sure.

And secound part of question. Any one know similar music player for mac ?

One way of figuring that out is feeding it a range of test tones of pure sines and known amplitudes. You want to know, you do the legwork
It's just eye candy, not calibrated metering...
