How are we supposed to mix well the very high frequencies ?

For example, a friend of me has a hearing limit at 14khz.

How can he trust him to mix frequencies beyond 14khz.

Most music records have a full spectrum content, up to 20khz.

But most people can't hear up to 20khz.

So, how do we do ?

I even know some mixing engineers with a 12khz limit, how much can we trust them ?

Thanks.

Maybe have some younger people check the mix as well. They tend to hear up to 18 kHz or so.

But I am not so sure that music covers the full spectrum up to 20 kHz.

With EDM it might be more of an issue than with older people's music such as Jazz.

My hearing ends at 13 to 14 kHz and I don't feel like I am missing anything. Actually, I have set both the bass and treble controls on my speakers to neutral in order to make music sound less irritating.
