We are pleased to announce our new ShaperBox effect: NoiseShaper is OUT NOW.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYxqgDA82Cs

NoiseShaper gives producers the secret sauce for lo-fi beats and exciting mixes: noise!

The latest ShaperBox effect puts vibe, energy and character right at the heart of your productions. Explore an expansive library of production-ready noise sources by top-tier sound designers BT, Cyclick and InsideInfo, then layer them onto any sound in just one click. With built-in dynamic control, NoiseShaper reacts to your music, for noise that breathes with every beat.

Imagine trap melodies crackling like vintage vinyl. EDM synths that fill the speakers with high-end electricity. Drums sizzling with classic console hiss. Pianos submerged in bubbling water. Cassette tape house grooves. Retro equipment hum, broken digital textures, organic field recordings... NoiseShaper does all this and so much more.

It’s easy to focus the noise precisely where you need it using Cableguys’ flexible modulation. Use Follow mode for rhythmically synced sizzle, or Duck mode to fill the gaps with lo-fi ambience and create pumping off-beat grooves. Target specific mix elements like the snare in a loop, and even design your own rhythmic noise patterns using ShaperBox’s signature drawable LFOs.

NoiseShaper is already in use by David Guetta, Rob Swire (Pendulum/Knife Party), Armin van Buuren, Jauz, DJs From Mars, César Sogbe (Prince, Pet Shop Boys, David Byrne), John Nathaniel (OneRepublic, Switchfoot, Kygo) and many more top producers.

“NoiseShaper is ridiculously useful. ShaperBox is my most used plugin by far.”
– Rob Swire (Pendulum/Knife Party)

Running inside Cableguys’ ShaperBox 2 plugin, NoiseShaper is €50 / $60, or available in the ShaperBox 2 Bundle (€89 / $99) of 8 Shaper effects. Upgrade pricing is available for existing Shaper owners in your Cableguys account.

ShaperBox itself has also been updated, with v2.4 now natively compatible with M1 Macs.

All NoiseShaper Features in Detail

Expansive, high-quality noise library
Explore an expansive world of noise with a library of samples crafted by BT, Cyclick and InsideInfo. Bring your music to life with pure white noise, vinyl crackles, tape hiss, classic analogue equipment hum, broken digital textures, organic field recordings, and more. Or, get creative and import your own WAV or AIF samples.

Dynamic noise that’s alive
Forget boring static noise – NoiseShaper’s Envelope Follower gives you noise that breathes with every beat. Use Follow mode for rhythmically synced sizzle, or Duck mode to fill the gaps with lo-fi textures and pumping off-beat grooves.

Trim. Filter. Mono. Solo
Quickly slot the noise into your mix with the Trim level adjustment, Mono button and dual high-/low-pass filter. Hear just the noise with the Noise Only option – perfect for sound design, or splitting the noise onto a separate track for mixing.

Cableguys quality
Every noise is carefully mastered to balance perceived volume, dynamics and frequency response across the entire library, so you can seek out the perfect noise without constantly tweaking the volume up and down. Elsewhere, NoiseShaper features analogue-inspired Envelope Follower response and Cableguys’ zero-delay-feedback filter DSP.

See what you hear
Modulation can be hard to understand – but not with NoiseShaper. You always see exactly what's happening with the big modulation trace, LFO graph, and spectrum view. All expandable, if needed.

LFOs that you design
Animate noise over time with Cableguys' famous LFO drawing tools. Create throbbing, stepped, ramped noise patterns in seconds – use easy-to-grasp Pen tools or classic node-based editing. Shift patterns in time, double them up, even randomize them. Any shape you can imagine is just clicks away.

Easy multiband control
Trigger the noise from up to three frequency bands. Add sizzle to just the hats in a loop, or enhance the kick drum by reacting only to bass frequencies, for example. Or go further: combine up to 3 separate noises with fully independent settings per band.

Inspiring presets
Get inspired with 100+ professional presets, ranging from straightforward production essentials to extreme transformations. Up your workflow with 1-click Quick Presets for vinyl crackle, tape hiss, and rhythmic beat spice. Just add the plugin, click and create.

Runs in ShaperBox 2
NoiseShaper runs in Cableguys' ShaperBox 2 effects plugin. Use it on its own, or combine it with Time, Drive, Crush, Filter, Volume, Pan and Width Shapers for multilayered effects. Buy NoiseShaper on its own — or save 69% and get all 8 Shapers with the ShaperBox 2 Bundle.

PLUS:
  • Retina/HiDPI interface, resizable from 75% to 200%
  • Attack/Hold/Decay controls for tuning Envelope Follower response
  • Envelope Threshold control, to ignore quiet elements
  • x2/x4/x8 Envelope Depth, for increasing modulation strength

Personality Shaper - to reshape your personality in order to be compatible with current social norms when you have spent too much time in the studio. Make sure the plugin is up to date before use to reduce possible social misshaps.

It can be used for Dubstep wub wub!

No idea though. From the video it almost appears to have the same effect as VolumeShaper. Surely has to do with dynamics. Maybe multiband compression.
Plugins and a DAW. On an operating system. Which runs on a computer.

VolumeShaper already does multiband compression, so it isn't that :)

From the screenshot alone I can tell it's a phaser ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...or flanger, the same principle.

Well, thanks to the video we can see the bits you tried to hide with the emojis in your picture

It looks like it adds noise that's triggered by the audio input.

After checking the video however, I think it's a pitchshifter.

Don't think that you Guys would come up with some completely unheard effect.

You could add ten instances of HalfTime to get this – but having such an essential effect in one handy "ThousandthTime" plugin would be a workflow-booster for sure! :hihi:
