I think most people already have the software they need (they may not believe that they have). And for the 'expensive software' there is nearly always a cheaper, but highly usable option.

Also, will you be able to license the more expensive software? Many such devs might think that they would be loosing out. That said, Slate are working such an option. So, could someone just not go straight to the dev, and skip the middle man so to speak?

Plus, I'd not like to work in the cloud, but that's just me.

I'd be interested to hear what others think.
