We’ve been listening closely to the music community through direct customer interaction, forums, and surveys and now we are ready to take action. We’ll have new developments to share that will excite both existing customers and those who currently are not using SONAR.
OSX, or most likely some kind of iOS app is gonna ship

Project5 doesn't run any longer on XP? The wildest speculations go around :P

Ok.. I give up, now tell us, please! This is inhumane; I am wetting my pants all day long. I beg you guys!

For Sonar Platinum, yes. But what if they release a new DAW later? Or just rename Sonar?

I don't know if I want to pay that much for the lifetime licence (233 € with VAT, about 2x annual renewal price). DAW world is unpredictable one and anything can happen in two years.

Andrew: I haven't received any e-mail from Cakewalk for some reason (my subscription seems to be active, though)
My lifetime fee was $99 USD since I upgraded this January. Considering that's less than they usually charge per upgrade/year for continued updates, was well worth it.

They may release a new product eventually but if you follow what they are doing now, I don't see that happening for a long time and at $99, even if they closed up Sonar in 2 years in favour of a new DAW, I already paid for those two years cheaper than it otherwise would have been. So win-win.

If you renewed this year already, it will be lower via the link in the email. It's all based on when you last paid for the annual renewal.

IMO, writing for the Mac OS would be great because they would get rid of all the 'vintage' Windows code and start fresh in OS X! But I don't see it happening! Too much work if they want to make the projects compatible with the Windows version!
I may flip a desk if that happens as I was one of the VS-700 owners. I already have a burning dislike for Tascam due to a previous experience with their terrible support.

No idea, i dont have either anymore. A new P5 would be very welcome tho.

Obligatory :P

@AnX

I was kidding, but it's no joke; P5 does not run on W7. And the shop-around-the-corner still sells it! €49. Be quick! It's their last copy! A unicum!

PS I would've bought that package if it would run on W7. However, bells were ringing loudly and I checked CK site first.

Maybe Apple are buying Cakewalk.

I just got an email from Cakewalk btw, for those who are interested. It said that there are big announcements coming on June the 1st, 2016. ;)

Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

$118 Inc VAT seems like a pretty decent offer for lifetime updates !!!!!!

When was that e-mail sent? I don't remember receiving any e-mail with such offer.

Started last night. There have been some issues with their email server unsubscribing people. They got it mostly fixed but some people still haven't gotten theirs. Send Andrew a message on the Cakewalk forums and he can hook you back up with it if you've not yet gotten it.
