Hi,
I'm pretty torn between which Clavinet vsti I should get?
I'm interested in GSI ZD6
http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=29
and Elektrik Piano
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... ontent=562
I'm aware of the Scarbee FEP aswell but I'm being given NI Komplete 5 and ZD6 only costs £25! I cannot afford the Scarbee FEP.
Which has the most authentic Clavinet sound - ZD6 or Elektrik Piano?
Thanks

Wow lots of ZD6 love here!!
I have to admit I already have VB3 and MR Ray mkII and think these are the best Hammond and Rhodes clones I've ever played!!
Think I'll be getting the ZD6 then!!!

Only one I've used (not much use for that sound in my music) is the free Ticky Clav: http://bigtick.pastnotecut.org/index.ph ... 20&lang=EN
It's pretty old. Not sure how it holds up now.

I think Ticky Clav is pretty decent when combined with an amp sim.

I have Ticky Clav already and it doesn't do it for me. I find it sounds too synthetic compared to the Hohner E7 I used to own.

the clavinet in kontakt 3 library is great. tbh, I don't think GSI gonna beat it really. If you have kontakt, well I wouldn't bother, even @ 25 bux. GSI UI is rudimentary. You can tweak the kontakt instrument to your heart's desire. It's authentic-sounding, and the release characteristic in the script ALONE makes playing the midi controller seem like I'm playing a clav for real.
I Have GSI rhodes and an organ one. The rhodes is kick ass and prob'ly can't be beat. the organ one isn't great, can be good in spots but lacks controls and has tons of aliasing in the chorusing.

This sounds way better than NI B4 and even my Hammond XK1!!!
Apparently the clavinet in Kontakt 3 is the one from Elektrik Piano.

Just out of curiosity to those that recommended ZD6, have you tried the one in NI Elektrik Piano?

I found a good clavinet sound font.
I also designed many clavi patches.
That's because it's my favorite instrument sound.
I gotta check out this zd6 thing now.
edit: wow they did conversions for mac too. That's great.
