Sound from The Longest Road

How to make that sound...

Hello,

I love the opening sound on Deadmau5's remix of Morgan Page's the Longest Road. It seems like a few stacked and detuned saw waves and seems like some side-chaining going on (or maybe two notes in quick succession?), but I haven't been able to get it quite right. Any suggestions?

I use Zebra and Twin2 primarily, but also have the demos for Massive and Sylenth1 that I'm trying out in case those are better suited.

Appreciate it! Not trying to copy - just trying to understand so I can make better sounds myself!

Which sound exactly are you after?

The high melody or the 8th note chords?

The 8th note chords primarily.

I'm guessing the high melody is something like a sine / triangle / belltone with a long release?

Thanks!

Use the search function and look for 'Deadmau5 Sound'....you should find about 6287 pages.

Just to give you a heads up, every Tom, Dick & Harry (and all their mates) has asked about this sound on this forum to the point where it's actually got quite ridiculous. You're lucky you got me, as others might not have been so 'friendly' in their responses :)

Only 6287? Have a few hundred thousand of those pages been deleted then?
