Ok, what the hell? Pro Tools/Live/Cubase/Nuendo for Mac and PC? Does it really matter?

Nice list but...
Podium is missing as is Energy XT
Presonus S1 is not out yet and neither is Record...Reason is a separate app so the Reason\Record listing is a bit strange IMO.
Neither Project 5 nor Tracktion (AFAICT) are being developed anymore
but they still have fans (like me)

and why is soundforge in the poll? it's an audio editor ... not that this is a bad thing per se, but then there's missing a lot more apps in the poll, i.e. wavelab, wavosaur, audacy, etc etc ...
as i see it, this poll should be more about traditional workstation sequencers like cubase, logic, reaper, sonar and the like ...
btw, i voted logic, although im on reaper on pc ... but i would have wanted to have 2 votes, for logic aswell as for reaper ...

SawStudio of course. It just sounds better than the other hosts due to the integer maths and Assembly programming.
Ok,so some complain it costs to much but do you really want to compromise your art ? Can you put a price tag on emotions ?

FL Studio
I've been industry trained to use Pro-Tools, Cubase, Reason and a few other industry-standard DAWs. I like them all for their own strengths (use any DAW enough and you'll appreciate its merits). However, there's just something about FL; it has that special something.
Also, it doesn't totally kill my workflow; none of the others, bar Reason, are really made for purely electronic music.

Cubase 5 on mac here. Looks like I'm a minority
I just wish Steinberg will fix bugs and improve performance at lower latency, then I can be fully satisfied.
I also use Logic 8 and it's nice for composition but I prefer Cubase 5 so far.
I wanna check out Logic 9 but I think I should probably finish my album first.
