Doesn't that look better? 8)

Many thanks to Eric Langou http://www.novaflash.com for the graphics! :hail:

I also have to thank Bob Katz (although I doubt he reads this forum  ) for inspiring me to add another two dynamics modes (upwards compression, and downwards expansion).

I took the time to write a more detailed pdf, but I still assume basic knowledge such as how to use conventional EQ and compression: if you don't know that, you probably aren't ready for this plug anyway.. :P

Download it here

Enjoy!

:)

Holy effing shitbars that looks nice!

It's already in my "EQ" folder (I recently streamlined but kept this one!) but this'll be nice. :D

Hey novaflash gui! Cool.
I am reading the pdf, and it is very helpful: more complete than some purchased.
Thanks again

it seems to be an hell of a free piece, thanks platinumears and congrats for such achievement
after some time reflecting and looking at the manual, even if from Novaflashs Eric Langou, i personally don't like much its appearence.. just sharing my honest feeling on it, even if sounding a bit pretensious or jeaulous pedantic
:hihi:
again, thanks

Thanks for this update.
I think I have voted for the best freebie of 2004.

Is this a full on update, or just the GUI?

I have been applying IQ4 in quite a few tracks and am very happy with the results coming from it :D

[edit] I mean I am quite okay with the original GUI; the gradients in this new one put me off a bit :? [/edit]

Post

hmmmmm - let me elaborate a bit ....

this version DEFINITELY looks like being perfectly adequate to suit following situation: your client walks in to take a look at the flashy presentation in works and you ask her: "should we give it some more bottom end punch?" and - et voila - you pull this one out of the toolbox and she goes "wow - that's exactly the punch I needed!"

now ... how's about a bit less flashy version for the daily works? named something like IQ4everyday_gui.dll ?

edit: for above outlined reasons there MUST be BOTH versions available (i.e. flashy and non-flashy) if you decide to publish less flashy version in addition to the flashy one.

I don't like the gradient background because it makes the actual gui hard to read at places. A softer background that gives you a better contrast to the foeground could be nice :)

Its grown two more dynamics modes, and I changed a few control ranges. Also the parameters all now have unique names internally (freq 1, freq 2 etc.) for easier automation.

This one has a different id, so you can keep both versions if you want..

Yes, true, could be improved.
Anyway, THANKS again for this great freebie.

yeah, been meaning to say how useful the first version has been so far. i was trying to master some live recordings but traditional compressors altered the sound too much. the IQ4 made it possible to nudge individual frequency bands into shape with everything still sounding natural.
really appreciate you sharing this with us.
