Make sure to give it a spin... I'm quite certain that you'll like it.
Thanks Artifake! Your Redtron SE is amazing!

Right - I have Sampletron from IKMM that I love but Redtron is every bit as good sound-wise. Perhaps the UI is not as slick but as long as it works. It was a bit finicky in Magix MM but that DAW is a tad shaky to begin with!Ingonator wrote:I am using Redtron for a while now. Seems to be the best free Tron emulation so far. Just awesome.
The sound of the Mellotron was there for ages now and it seems to be timeless.![]()

Redtron works fine in 32 or 64bit SONAR X3. The default settings for the vst scanner picks up an unusual name for the plug-in.Numanoid wrote:Can it be a problem that RedTron is 32 bit?
Totally agree. Everyone should read what wrote Mike Dickson about his Mellotron MK400 in 2008, he is very explicit about the big differences in the behavior of each tape from one take to another, even in the same song. It can be a flaw... but it can be also a real enjoyment: the pleasure to have under the fingers not an object... but something really ALIVE!seismic1 wrote:Our Mellotron M400 never sounded the same for two consecutive days![]()
I think different models also had slightly different charateristics which affected the sonics.
Wow/flutter would also have an effect on the sounds generated.
The various VSTi 'trons appear to be sampled from different sources.
I would hope that they have individualities and quirks.
