Hi folks,

Since the release of SynthMaster v1.0.5, we have been working quite hard to bring you a better SynthMaster with more features, and the most importantly, at an affordable price (FYI: $59). From time to time we posted updates on our forum here, but we belive now is the time to announce the new features in v2.0. So here we go...

Important disclaimer before you scroll down the screenshots: The user interface you see below is prototype UI that we'll deliver to our sound designers. The final interfaces will be released later on, and more will continuously be added over time.

New/improved features are:

1. One of the most important changes in v2.0 is the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) GUI editor that comes with it. With this editor, you are free to design your own interface, so this is way more than skinning:

2. The second big change is the addition of the waveform editor and wavetable synthesis, so that now you can edit single cycle waveforms, or their spectrums:

3. Here's another big change: Almost every continuous parameter in SynthMaster is modulatedable by LFOs, envelopes, easy parameters, vocoder bands levels, audio inputs levels, midi velocity, midi aftertouch, midi pitch bend:

4. We finally improved the preset browser, no more context menues to find the preset you're looking for:

We also added metadata for presets:

5. We added layering support, so now each preset consists of 2 layers:

Each layer has its own:

Arpeggiator:

Sequencer:

3 Oscillators (Basic, Additive, Wavetable)

3 Filters (Analog/Digital, 12db/24db, LP/HP/BS/BP/AP/LS/HS/Comb). The analog filters are modelled after the "ladder" filter, the digital filters are almost the same as in v1.0:

4 Modulators with basic shapes (sine, triangle, square, sawtooth, pulse, noise)

2 LFOs (Basic shapes, Step, Glide)

2 Multistage Envelopes:

4 ADSR Envelopes:

6. We also improved the Vocoder, as seen below:

Wow! Talk about complete overhaul!

I guess that upgrade policies will be tricky, with all the different licenses. Will you give info about it ?
You can't always get what you waaaant...

On the contrary, quite simple:

1. If you are an existing licenced owner, and participate in beta testing for v2.0, you wont pay a dime for upgrading 8)

2. If you just want to upgrade after the beta period, it's $20 for folks that purchased at $40. For folks who purchased at $60/$100, there's no upgrade fee 8)

...looking forward to this one for sure.

damn, that's a shit ton of work you did. hope it pays off. for $59 it's the right price.. one thing you might want to consider; coupling skins with banks so when you load an fxb if there is a skin for it, it also loads. :)

We already thought about that! i.e. saving the skin id for each preset, so for instance if you have a preset with a Moog skin, the skin changes to Moog when you load the preset.

BTW each skin will have its default settings (parameter values I mean)

What export? SynthMaster is already a VSTi :)

I mean export "my constructed synth" to a vsti plugin.

Something like SynthEdit, SynthMaker a.s.o.

SynthMaster is a synth , not a modular enviroment or a synth builder . But , reading again Kv331's post , I understand why you thought so . :hihi:

Any future plans to support multisamples? (In other words, to let the user build something resembling a soundfont or Kontakt file?)
