No stacking of grains streams but you have access to 6 sources ( oscillator or sampler or granular) you could offset the start point in each sources...

Take my advice for what it is worth as I have only had Pigments 2 for about 24 hours. I bought it for $99. The more I use it the more I am impressed with the synth and its well-thought out interface. If you factor in ease of use, it may be a no-brainer. I am quite please with my purchase. YMMV

The RATE and SIZE parameters adjust what you want.

Any Padshop 2 fans left here? It's still on my wishlist for Black Friday, but I don't see it praised here

Padshop still get alot of praise I think, no? Really nice granular synth anyway + you get the powerful spectral resynthesis engine combined with the granular now. Except Alchemy that is only available for OSX now in Logic, it's the only granular synth that has this spectral engine. Monster synth for soundscapes.

But Pigments 2, with its 256 simultaneous grains is when used with long length and high density rate, is just sublime and the perfect tool for massive grainy clouds.

This is a thing? I searched Youtube to see if there is a video about it. I did a demo some time ago of Pigments, but I never tried this. I would love to hear more about it. What is the process? Normally dragging in a wav file would replace the previous one, no?Echoes in the Attic wrote: Fri Nov 13, 2020 9:53 am One of the coolst granular synths out there right now is Pigments I think. You can load 6 wav files in one granular osc and it cycles between them, which gives this cool effect which is different than just layering granular oscs or samples in other synths.
Edit: I did find something about six sample slots, mapping with the "Round Robin" setting. I think that is what was meant. I only heard it with various hi-hats, and I'm curious what it sounds like with extended samples. Also, do each of the six sample slots get their own granular settings?
Edit: I thought my demo had expired (was just deleted back when I had crash). I can demo it again. Woot.

It's nice. I like it for its clear interface, and simplicity.DJ Warmonger wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 7:47 pm Any Padshop 2 fans left here? It's still on my wishlist for Black Friday, but I don't see it praised here![]()
I detest eLicenser though, so, I decided for myself that I won't buy any products anymore which use it. Just my opinion, ofc. If Steinberg dropped it, I'd immediately consider ALL of their products again. Fingers crossed.
