I wish they'd release a "lite" version just for auditioning snapback samples (including user samples). There isn't a way to do this yet in Live 12 right (of course I mean with the snapback sample positioned so it's ending right as the kick is starting)? For convenience maybe also include a "reverse sample". Then fine-tuning could be done in the DAW. (Personally I strongly prefer seeing how all the audio clips line up in the arranger view. And also not having the added latency.)_leras wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 12:44 pmIt's not a new idea per se, as it's a pretty well known production technique.
I also think that ideally you'd be able to browse existing folders for samples, but maybe the import isn't too clunky.
As someone who uses this technique quite a lot, I'm looking forward to seeing if this makes the process simpler. For me it's pretty manual to reverse sounds, edit and line them up to get the right timing.

Bitwig Drum machine, which has a sampler for each hit, is quite good for this as you load a sample, reverse it and can also set the start point for the sample.
If it's a longer sample (1/16th or more) can be quite easy to line it up. Every sample is a different length though, so there's always some element of editing or moving, especially if your beat has some groove.

I hope they keep updating this. If they added every-other hit and every third hit sample playback that would be a nice bonus.

Still loving Snapback. Just used it to smooth out some hats last night.
Re: Shaperbox.... The quality of the FX is so underrated. Recently, I've been using the reverbs, bitcrusher, and adding noise via envelope follower, all without deploying the time based LFO. IMO, Shaperbox is one of the biggest values in the plugin world.

We just released Snapback 1.1, now with a handy Reverse button that flips the play direction of any imported snapback sample. You can download the update in your Cableguys account at: https://www.cableguys.com/login
With one click, turn any percussion hit into a signature snapback, create reverse vocal snippets, and unlock fresh creative possibilities.
Snapback remembers each sound's play direction, no matter if you move or rename the file. So you only have to reverse a sample once, and the reversed state is remembered forever.
Version 1.1 also expands the number of addressable MIDI ports from 16 to 256.
See how easy it is to make your own custom snapback samples in Joe's new video:

I am having to delete the library at the following every 2-3 months as it seems to lose the link to this folder for both Snapback and Shaperbox. This fix does the job but is there any way to stop this from happening?

Thanks.

Just bought this. Far more useful & creative than I thought, but can’t for the life of me see a reverse button. Am I being dumb?

I am glad you like Snapback! I guess you're already on Snapback version 1.1, but you might have tried it with the built-in sounds, maybe?ians wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 6:07 am Just bought this. If so, the reverse button is only shown when you load custom sounds (either drag a sound into the snapback layer, or set up a folder of custom sounds via the Main menu). The built-in sounds don't show the button, as we know that they're already reversed.
