Update: the choppiness is gone, so that was weird--I must have had something else open causing problems. However, GPU mode still murders my GPU and my CPU. Using CPU mode, both meters drop!
I guess the moral of the story is stick with CPU mode for now.

I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

That's what he would have had to do to get the plugin to work because once the plugin deactivates itself you have to download a new license file to get it to work. Other plugins like from U-HE never randomly deactivate themselves, whether that involves a Windows update or anything else for that matter (unless you're actively breaking the scripting code like I do where you simply may need to reinstall it.strovoknights wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:22 pm Please try downloading a new license file from the web.
It's annoying to find your plugins not working and an inconvenience to go online to navigate to the place to download to reactivate the plugin again and again, to get it working, but it's a different story if you are out on stage, and using it live on stage in front of hundreds or maybe thousands of people without internet access.
Rapid is a great plugin, but this issue needs to be sorted, so it simply doesn't happen. No excuses.

That’s for me to the reason I hardly use it. When I want to use, than I habe to reactivate it, that’s a real timekiller, so I have chosen other goto synths, like u-he, softube, synapse audio and TalTHE INTRANCER wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:58 pmThat's what he would have had to do to get the plugin to work because once the plugin deactivates itself you have to download a new license file to get it to work. I am curious how often this happens?
I rarely use Rapid, to the point I sometimes forget I even have it, and that has never happened to me on mac or pc, since I bought it how many years ago.

It's happened about four times for me over the years, on Windows.zvenx wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 10:54 pm I am curious how often this happens?

I did exactly that multiple times, with no success. Even updated to the latest version (I was one update behind).strovoknights wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:22 pm Please try downloading a new license file from the web.
But even if is a bug and they fix it - this plugin is very high risk from a future-proof perspective. Moving on, not the only bad purchase I made, anyway

So any news on the status of 1.9? Or any progress at all?
People keep wondering why threads keep coming up about this synth being dead or not, but honestly it's been over 2,5 years since the last update (not counting the OS compatibility fix release). And that's unfortunate as it's a hell of a synth with a lot of potential and a great sound.

I reckon this synth is dead. No progress or even a response from PARAWAVE - even when we ask for just some comment - they are not even bothered to commenteagle007 wrote: Mon Jul 17, 2023 7:21 pm So any news on the status of 1.9? Or any progress at all?

This again?
Its like groundhog day.
They have said a few times they are working on stuff.
We did get vst3 at the end of last year and there is a road map of what they are supposedly working on.
I, like most if not all, are not exactly happy with their rate of release, but for sure I don't believe the synth is dead.
And not everyone is urs heckman who keeps us a abreast of development, and whilst his approach is nice, it surely doesn't have to be everyone's.
