i find visual feedback sometimes very usefull, not always, but in soft modulars, for complex lfo's, or complex modulations, a scope is what i use often.gentleclockdivider wrote: Fri Apr 08, 2022 12:16 pm Why would anyone want to see lfo's animated is beyond me .

for wavetables... well it is nice to were you are (especially with MPE). although the ear does more... but especially when building wavetables... or when it is resynthesized, to have an overview, well then we are in the editor...
so it is usefull, for me, but can live without it, but still... a scope or visual feedback for 'programming debugging'....

If you're talking about the tweet with the animation video, I don't think the primary purpose was to say this is a much needed feature. Rather it was to demonstrate the powerful granular control now available in programming the GUI.gentleclockdivider wrote: Fri Apr 08, 2022 12:16 pm Why would anyone want to see lfo's animated is beyond me .

That being said (must have been 6 or 7 years ago) I read a study of website design that found that people tended to find websites to be more user friendly if they found it more aesthetically pleasing.
So there can be a slight user experience benefit for some users by implementing that animation.

Oh ok thanks, I already had those. I've used the individual waves to make up new tables.chk071 wrote: Thu Apr 07, 2022 11:48 pmIt's these ones: https://www.adamszabo.com/vstplugins/vi ... d_id=16562
Try the "Landing" one.
The Landing WT works well with Spectral Blend Style in Vital.
For some reason the WTs I've created in DUNE 3 load up in Vital with Spectral already enabled while Adam's Virus WTs load up with None selected as the Blend Style which is why they're steppy right out of the box.
Not sure why they load up differently.

There can also be a hit on performance as your system calculates all the eye candy.cel4145 wrote: Fri Apr 08, 2022 1:29 pm So there can be a slight user experience benefit for some users by implementing that animation.
The ability to turn off all or some of the animations would be of benefit to far more people especially those trying to run Vital on older systems.
I program with my ears not my eyes so would flip that off switch the second it was added. Not so much for performance but because I find all the eye candy needlessly distracting.

why don't we let matt finish what he's doing, see how vital runs, then request options, fixes, etc (and hopefully, celebrate the good stuff)

Regarding the eventual release info from Matt mentioned a little earlier in this thread. A little farther down in the Vital forum thread that was quoted from is this exchange from Matt:
“There’s a private beta that is native on M1 along with a few new features. When it’s ready I’m going to make it available to Pro users and subscribers.”
“Nice to see updates are coming. Will Vital’s free and plus users get the update too?”
“Yes of course, though I’m going to release it in stages”

Plus owners can be patient and wait for the final release, or pay for Pro. Paying more comes with privileges.
