Do you need a clear system for naming all the sounds in your library?

The Universal Category System (UCS) is a public domain project that provides a standard system for classifying any sounds: sound effects, musical sounds, and field recordings.

You can use UCS to standardise the category names in metadata and file/folder structures, to reduce confusion when organising a sound library.

UCS also provides tools to make the process of renaming and categorizing sounds easier for anyone who maintains a personal or professional library. These tools include apps, keyboard macros, and a style guide for writing succinct descriptions. Very thoughtful!
