There is currently a collaborative project in progress at The Auditorium.
The idea is simple and it is an attempt to highlight and share the differing methods of working with audio that people employ.
It consists of three parts, the first of which is complete, but anyone can join in at any time.

part 1: the sample.
A disparate selection of samples is collected.

part 2: the mix.
Using only these samples and whatever effects/processors you have at your disposal create an "unmastered" piece of music and upload to the forum

part 3: the master.
Select one (or more!) of these tracks and use whatever effects/processors you have at your disposal to create a fully "mastered" version.

and hopefully by the end of this some fun will have been had and a little knowledge gained.

Just three mixes uploaded so far, but room for plenty more!
Part 2 only started yesterday.
There are no set time limits, just playing it by ear .

this is exactly my cup of tea! i'll have to contribute some samples for the next event, but count me in for this one

i hope it's running for long enough tho i've got loads of uni work for the next week...

If there is enough interest Parts 2 and 3 could run concurrently anyway.

as its not a competition as such, more of an organic project, its evolution is essentially up to the participants.

so the answer is; we have as much time as we need!

Nice idea, too bad I'm too busy to participate at the moment, but I would be happy to contribute some samples next time you're doing this.

Shame you're busy as your sample manipulation skills are awesome. I'm sure you could work wonders with the current batch of sounds!
