It just blows my mind that Paul McCartney has written some of the absolute best and worst songs that ever existed. when hes on hes on, and when hes not he is REALLY off.foosnark wrote:I am amazed and dismayed that nobody has mentioned Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime" yet.
If a song could be poisoned, stabbed, shot, burned, strangled, run over, bombed, fed to crocodiles, ejected into the vaccuum of space, hanged, shat upon, flogged, sodomized by demons, and forced to listen to its own horrible self, then this is the song that deserves it most.

"Bip bop, bip bip bop
Bip bop, bip bip band
Dig your bottom dollar
put it in your hand
Try to hang out
underneath the stand
Put your hands together
gonna see a band
Treat me like a good boy
Treat me like a man
Take me hair and curlers
But treat me like a man"
Wtf?

My initial nominees are:
Wings: Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime -- what everyone else said about this horrible insipid turd of a song
Celine Dion: Unison -- Tommy Musto remix. The original song was as bad as any of her MOR dreck. But the Tommy Musto remix took it way over the top. Every cliché of early 90s dance music in one fell swoop: cheesy synth stabs, machine-gun percussion, and... a rap.
House Of Pain: Shamrocks & Shenanigans ("Boom Shalock Lock Boom") -- in addition to being absolutely wretched, the pretense on this was just unbelievable. They were hyping themselves as Irish rap, yet they hadn't even ever been to Ireland when they did that album.
Billy Ray Cyrus: Achey Breaky Heart -- need I say more?
Debbie Boone: You Light Up My Life -- if you're young enough, you may be fortunate to have never heard this
Perfect Gentlemen: Ooh La La -- A mercifully not-very-successful number from the mastermind behind NKOTB
Michael Bolton: How Am I Supposed To Live Without You? -- if Bolton gets any worse than this, I don't want to know.
General Public: Tenderness -- How could anyone listen to this with a straight face?

Ketchup Song - holds chords for about eight bars or something. That or anything by Anastasia; she sounds like Tina Turner with her arse on fire.

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!
