Maybe for some people, but that's one of the very few CD's I actually dropped in the trashcan & forgot about..herodotus wrote:How could I have forgotten:

nothing does it for me like Confessor

brutal half-time riffing with sledgehammers
Also, it's hard to find a more heavy album than Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects

Not that I'm a fan or anything (my old boss was the sort of guy who spent all of his money on c.d.s, and brought them to work, and played them, and played them, and played them, and played them).
I'm not really a huge fan of most of the bands I've mentioned here, with the exception of the Melvins who are the way coolest. I often think that a lot of metal-type stuff becomes a sort of numbing blur after a while. Perhaps because there is so very little dynamic contrast most of the time.
Nonetheless, I did see Lamb of God live, and was very impressed by their energy.
Oh well.

Slayer + Morbid Angel * 10 = Vader Litanysoulkraka wrote:I was expecting something like Slayer but 10 times harder.
I say Slayer because their first couple albums are pretty much the last "hard" albums Ive listened to....to me their "hell awaits" album is just scary hard....listen to the title track.

all that speedcore/noisecore stuff like Bloody Fist just annoys me ; it's so kiddy
The stuff i normally listen to is industrial/hardcore/techno ; the smarter stuff - very hard but not just angry-teenager kinda stuff
rude awakening, void settler, ophidian, kay d smith, armageddon project, etc
anyway .. the kicks on the above artists are still 100x harder and stronger than bloody fist crap
