whats an easy way to control vst effects in FL when the vst effect doesnt have the normal interface where you can right click and edit the parameter. like forinstance the toy bear pitch shifter, you cant right click and manualy wright in automation for it, you can record movements, but i would like to be able to edit them as with normal FL knobs, i tried maybe using a dash board and assigning the knobs on that via midi to the toybear vst , but i dont know how to link them correctly i guess.
any help much appreciated

use "browse parameters" or "last touched parameter" from the plugins upper-left menu.
If you don't have those options, your FL is old

You click the plug icon in the upper right corner of the VST window. Then go down to "Edit Events" and select the parameter you want to edit.
