No one uses Orion for audio recording, no one with any sense any way, and no one has passed up Orion for P5 either, thats just madness.
Orion is stil bubbling along in beta format right now, lots of new stuff...lots of Rich's ideas being played with.

I do. Why wouldn't I? Add the track, arm it and press record. Its as easy as any other way I can think of. When I need to go in and tidy up my appalling vocals, I just right click on the audio clip and open it up for editing in Cool Edit 2000. All I have to do is hit save and it is instantly reloaded into the audio track for previewing. I can't think of an easier or more powerful way to work with audio and VSTi, as long as its just one or two tracks, but then that's all my audio device can handle at one time so its perfect.

I was thinking about this recently. I think there are a number of reasons Orion is loosing steam. For one, Orion is not able to keep up with the arms race. Personally, I would have liked to see Orion go the FL route and focus more on features of the sequencer itself, rather than providing more and more and more soft synths. Then there was the price hike which spawned a long thread here at KVR. Add to that a reputation for general instability which was co-signed by CM.
Workflow was, to me, Orion's greatest strength, but when other sequencers have the tools you need, it's just a matter of time before you decided to move on. At this point, Orion needs to both catch up, and add some unique and amazing features to catch people's attention again. Better stability of course wouldn't hurt. It still crashes just from opening song files.
