Well, it sounded better than "Cancun Baboon". Please listen, anyway :D

A bit over 5 minutes, 160 bitrate mp3, ~6MB

Thanks...er, gracias!

nice, I like that sort of music.

1) groove seems a bit quantized to me, could you improve on that?

2) hire the brass section (I can play the sax for you if you'd like), or better wait for Arturia Brass, trumpets and trombones sound amazing there

3) you could liven things a bit with a vocal here and there

4) guitar solo after the piano seems so jazz, like theme-solo-solo-solo thing (but not so good in latin music)

erm, all that criticism... it still sounds good, but when you hear it live it's on another level.

get a band to play it.

ow marvelous

now put the percussion softer in the mix
make it all sound a bit less programmed
find a good singer over it

The horns could be a bit more staccato, and pull for a break w/ the percussion section, to make it more "Latin". It just feels to ballady for the tempo is at.

Just my $.02 or pesos?

Sound nice overall. I can add some percussion if you like.

Really? That's an intriguing offer - what did you have in mind?

How would you do that? Do you want a mix with all the percussion muted? The tempo is a constant 120 bpm. What else?

Thanks!

SWTrex,

Really:D
I'm a percussionist (on the latin side-not a kit frummer-I mean drummer:roll: ), so Ican record some real instruments. Congas, bongos, timbales and a miriad of other hand percussion.
It depends on how you got your tracks. I use Dp 4.5 as a sequencer, so if you have midi and audio no problem. If its all soft sampler/instruments if you can can seperate the percussion tracks vs. the other stuff, I should be able to go with that. That way, I can feel the "feel" you are going for in percussion-no what I mean? So give me both.

If need be I can work off of MP3 files, but would be better with. WAV and/or AIFF. Have a space you can upload to?

Let me know.

Bump... sorta.

I took tonio up on his offer, and he did an awesome job in replacing my Latin percussion with his own. His version is here:
