What?!RawTheory wrote:You guys are trippin'. Kool Keith was and is a genius. Dr. Octagon is dope but "Dr Doom: First Come First Served" is better. His newest release "Diesel Truckers" is THE SHIT! On track 14 he breaks out metaphysical geometries that are waaay beyond your average listener.
Airborn Audio is the shit too. High Priest used to be my favorite rap artist, but his releases are too sporatic for that to stay the case. Beans is wack
Didn't I say that I liked Dr. Dooom more than Dr. Octagon?

I have my moments with the Dr.Octagon stuff. At times, the stream on conscinous bit wears on me... but I've got so much respect for UltraMag that I have no choice but to like him regardless
As a whole I definately prefer MF Doom (was a big KMD head back in the day too... rip subroc).

I agree. There are alot of talented cats who use that style and are saying something but there are even more cats these days who are abusing the style by not actualy saying anything at all, there's a whole crop of emcees like sage francis who basicly might as well be reading out of rhyming dictionaries. those kind of rappers don't actualy get that something is actualy being conveyed, they think its just a clever easy way to put words together. I've actualy seen people use that style of rapping to teach other wack as rappers how to flow, but you can't teach somebody how to 'have something to say'
