Any drums soundfonts that don't sound so thin?

I mean, I checked the nskit, but it's kind of weak in the ass. Especially the kicks. Wanted to know if there are any drum soundfonts with thick kicks and snappy snares(reminiscent of the old school drummers like Paul Humphries or Steve Gadd)?

Seems like a lot of the drum soundfonts are more made for rock.

Please let me know.

Go to Sonic Implants. They've just released Yamaha drums "that Steve Gadd made famous". Here's the page:

but I like the BlueJay series too.

Maybe some effects can help you out? Putting some gate reverb on the kit, some nice EQ, and compressor can really get some thick drums.

That's exactly what you should do!

And maybe build a new kit yourself from pieces of various kits you find usefull. So nevermind if the MiniKit snare isn't snappy and replace it with one that is.

So: get your hands dirty !!

Believe you me, I've spent the last 3 years of my life getting dirty. I've tried almost everything to get my drums sounding nice (EQ, Compression, Tube effects, bass enhancers, etc...). You name it, I've tried it. But, nothing has worked to my satisfaction. I am guessing that my lack of prowess in this area has led to my failure at this attempt, but broad statements like add a gated reverb and compress don't really do much for me in the way of getting to where I want to be.

But thanks anyway. If you do have any specific information to provide or books/websites to recommend, I am more than open to check them out.
