Since I got a nice Mac Mini recently I've started porting some of my plugins to OS X. First out is NyquistEq as a VST plugin. Grab it at http://magnus.smartelectronix.com/

For the uninitiated: NyquistEq is a parametric graphic equalizer with an intuitive interface and a natural response in the treble and bass where most digital eqs fall short.

Please let me know if you find any issues with it.

Excellent! It seems many of my favourite plugs are going or have gone OS X... Kjaerhaus stuff, Ambience, and now NyquistEQ :D

Thanks Magnus!

I've made a small bugfix release: there was a GUI bug when using it in Cubase SX which rendered NyquistEq useless. So if someone had problems before maybe they'd like to try out the latest version.

wouldn't it be a good idea to include a lopass shelf on nyquist ?

Post

Do you mean a low shelf filter? (low shelf = bass cut/boost)

I'm actually working on it (since a few days back now). I'm adding highpass filters instead of shelving filters though, since bass boosting/cutting is already possible to simulate using the peaking filters (just set the center freq at say 20 Hz and adjust the gain and corner freq). Let me know if you want to beta test it.

Awesome. A high and low shelf will make this a most excellent plugin indeed. Keep up the good work!

Is it my imagination/ignorance, or is there no numerical data/reference points provided anywhere on the NyQuist EQ GUI?
Here is my small version:
