Anyone know how to rig one using the basic effects (i.e. chorus, flanger, phaser)?

Spectral Monkeyage with spectral blurring set high. Then feed to a chorus 100% wet, low depth. Then to a low pass filter, cutoff set somewhere around 400Hz with LFO modulating cutoff at a low depth and resonance set according to taste. Add salt, stir, let sit for 2 minutes and enjoy.

That plugin is certainly hard to find, thanks tho.

Just join the Audiomulch forum at Yahoo, go in the files section, look under 'plugins for mulch' or something to that effect.

Google often points you to several repositories with it, also could try Jack Dark's forum, I think I saw it there. Or just Google for "phase vocoder VST" it'll point you to Richard Dobson's site at Bath U with his phase vocoder plugins, which can do a lot of the same stuff (just slightly differently).

you can make underwater sounds using flanger/chorus and phaser. have the chorus modulate the signal and the phaser can give it that resonant water ripple effect.

I really need some coffee. I swear to dOG I thought this thread was about looking for an "underwear" effect. I had to click on it out of morbid curiosity.

Record some water splashing. gurgling sounds with a mic and a bucket of water. Mix that in for ambiance. Pitchshift your vocals down a semitone, and roll off the highs with a lowpass filter or eq. Apply a big smooth reverb and maybe a long echo or two. I don't know if i would use chorus or phase - too spacey.

The Eventide has a great underwater patch. It's built on a pitch shifter, chorus with a good amount of modulation, and reverb. That's all you should need right there.
