That sounds like an awesome theme! And a challenging one!
Like Radio Caroline? or all that stuff on Limewire?

Either works for me. I think I might still have that naughty sample Madonna made a few years ago...

Argh mateys!

Well. You are not missing much  but here it is in case you are curious.
Finally uploaded to the new host while I finish off a couple more sections for the web site.

Theme suggestion: evolving soundscapes.

No wait, that was Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, June, July...never mind, then. :hihi:

Here we are back into more mainstream dance. I am really as sucker for these POOM tchee POOM tchee rythmes. Bottom line, it really makes me want to smile and dance.
Very effective. The mix seems a little on the dark side, it could use more high end.
Thanks. :)

Done...

Unfortunately my 10 dropped to..

11. Kovacs - What I Want To Do(NOT REALLY DANCE - but i like it, its Rock not unlike The Bravery, The Killers and a whole lot of other "The" bands. It could be remixed into a heavy tune so it gets my number 11 spot)

Shame to cause i really liked that tune. oh well. Kovacs you get an honourable mention.

You know... right about the same time I stopped smoking crack, all the contest sites stopped having 'top eleven' contests.

So strange...

ugo wrote:pretty cool...not a major booty shaker, but definitely a toe tapper and quite enjoyable. interestingly, something about the first 18 seconds reminds me of an old dylan song but i cant place which one yet. the mix could use some more definition and ballenceing.
Glad you enjoyed the track! The opening strumming sounds a little like Dylan's 'Maggies Farm' which I've bashed around a bit before. Maybe some subliminal copping going on, eh?
pheeleep wrote:Interesting track. Not my kind of music though..
A little removed from what some call dance music for sure. Thanks for the listen.
barnadine wrote:Excellent stuff. Sure, it gets sloppy in places (just adds to the charm), and the recording is pretty lo-fi (but who cares?). It's a great idea, done well. I really enjoyed it, and it'll probably get a vote from me. Easy review. Cheers.
Wow, high praise indeed! Thanks for the nice review I'm really glad that I was able to get my little musical idea across effectively.
rockstar_not wrote:What a perfect title. I can imagine a full-on indian percussion groove going kicking in at the phrase starting at 0:28, but it's not there. Check out Herdotus' track for the drums that would go well with your track.
Thanks for the review! I considered a table groove going in the 'indian' sections, but i recorded without a click and I think I'm wavering between 118.743 and 120.479 BPM
respirator wrote:I appreciate the concept and it’s almost there. It misses somehow the final touch that could make this truly great, but a favourite so far.
Again thanks! I wasn't sure if people would 'get' where the tune was coming from, but based on the reviews and votes you all did!

techbot wrote:Another great take on the dance theme. Had a very Led Zeppelin undertone (but that could be just my odd .
Thanks for the review. My favorite Zep tunes are their folkier ones. There is a link between English folk and American mountain music (and apparently Hindi film scores)

liqih wrote:liked this style a lot, nice melody,
need a remix to dance though
Not modern dancefloor material, but maybe a little two-step?
glooper wrote:I really like the sounds of this piece. OK.. I probably wouldn't dance to it... But I can definitely see it being in a some bollywood meets Folk movie.. with hillbillies in eastern clothes line dancing or something. Good stuff. good Tune
Alright, your getting the idea! My thought was intercutting a scene I've seen from The Beverly Hillbillies with Grannie and Jed dancin' with Hindi musical production number scenes.
kaos axiom wrote:This tune rocks!!!!! the mix of styles is just awesome!!! I can`t dance to it, but still gets a high score for the freshness.
Wow, thanks for the very positive review. This is indeed the best response I've gotten for an entry!
vurt wrote:cheapsuit oroonies anybody
Oy!!!
wopelka wrote:Another very good rendition of world music. Makes my navel dance.
Thanks! My original thought was a mountain belly dancing tune called Turkish Two-Step, but it came out sound more Indian.
ladyj wrote:nice mix of country and bollywood, wish it had a beat, where is Talvin Singh when you need him eh

Thanks LadyJ! I think there's a lot of interesting cross-pollination going around with Talvin Singh and the Asia Massive movement.
